Must You Have a Wedding Cake?
The answer is no! My personal choice would be a wedding cake AND an offering of something else that would be fun and interactive for the guests, only because I love cake so much. If you’re on a budget but you want something fun for your reception, work the crowd with one of these suggestions:
A shortcake station: Guests take a warm biscuit and top it with fresh macerated strawberries, or amaretto soaked peaches (depending on what’s in season) topped with freshly made Chantilly cream.
A Campfire station: Your childhood favorite is ready to go with a graham cracker crust and a chunk of chocolate topped with a marshmallow just waiting to be torched by an action chef.
A Whoopie pie station: Your guests can have fun filling their own whoopee pies with a variety of pie/cake flavors and fillings (like red velvet cake and cream cheese filling)
It’s your wedding day, don’t be afraid to show your personality and go against the grain.
