Aside from promising yourself to start some sort of gardening project and committing to eating fresh and local, start reading the labels of all foods you purchase at the grocery store. Look for words like, refined, bleached and enriched. These words mean the products has been stripped of all of it’s natural nutrients! Anything ending in “ose” means it contains a sugar product. When you see these words on an item you’ve picked up, put that puppy back on the shelf and go for a healthier alternative!
When choosing your meals think colorful!
Life is better with color and food is no exception to that rule. If you incorporate colorful options when you’re cooking, chances are you’ll start cooking healthier meals. Take something as simple as a scrambled egg. Pretty boring right? However if you add fresh spinach and cherry tomatoes you’ve got something a lot nicer to look at and it’s so much better for you!
